Remember how useful the floppy disk was? Remember our dependence on this 1.44MB piece of delicate crap? I hope we've all forgotten about that archaic hardware, but if not, check these new mini hard drives out. USB flash hard drives are about the size of a finger and can hold upwards of 4GB of data, almost 2,800 times the space of a traditional 1.44MB floppy! They can also transfer data to and from the computer at 480Mbps (about 60MB/sec).
The latest USB flash drive from Sandisk, the world's largest flash memory data storage firm, is called the Cruzer Titanium and sports either a 1GB or 2GB flash hard drive. It has a retractable USB connector which removes the possibility of losing the cap that all other USB drives generally suffer from. It's also lightning fast, small, and can withstand a crush force of 2,000 pounds. The drive includes software to sync and password protect files, as well as scan for viruses. Retail price $109.00
