Microsoft's new digital audio player, ZuneMicrosoft Corp. will be releasing its new digital music player "Zune" soon (I'm a poet!). Zune shares many similarities with the iPod, but also has some fun exclusive features. The Zune is not only an affordable alternative to the wildly popular (and expensive) iPod, it is also sexy looking and sports some great features!

Similarities: Internal hard drives from 30GB+, proprietary music store & software (Zune Marketplace), plays movies (WMV, MPEG-4, H.264), plays music (WMA, MP3, AAC), "plays" pictures (JPG), supports playlists, etc etc etc.

Exclusives: Large 3-inch LCD screen that can be configured to play in portrait or landscape mode, wireless Zune-to-Zune sharing lets you swap songs with friends and listen to them up to three times, and a built-in FM tuner.

All in all, it appears to be a great package and prices are reported as low as $284 from Wal-Mart! Of course, the player also has accessories like car/home audio kits, speakers, and so forth, and this list will surely grow as consumers demand more iPod-like accessories. The Zune Marketplace allows for unlimited, subscription based music downloads, and per-song pricing, which should fit well with the wireless Zune-to-Zune music sharing capibility. Also interesting is the ability to import all your existing songs from iTunes and Windows Media Player -- look out iPod, here comes Zune!
